Outlier and virality scores

Compare observed performance in context.

Outlier score

An outlier score describes how unusual observed performance is relative to the available baseline. A creator’s typical views are useful when comparable posts exist. A follower count is not required for follower-free peer comparisons.

Virality index

The index combines the available performance signals after normalization. Missing metrics and small samples reduce the evidence behind a result. It is a research index, not Instagram’s, TikTok’s or YouTube’s internal ranking formula.

Use enough comparable posts

Compare similar content types and a useful time window. A small carousel sample should not receive a confident Reel baseline. Use the score explanation to see whether the comparison is supported.

Filter weak results

Set minimum outlier and virality thresholds to narrow the visible collection. Unknown scores should remain distinguishable from low scores. Change the baseline or collect more examples when too little data is available.

Script potential is different

AI scores for an unpublished script are planning estimates. A simulated focus group represents model-generated audience perspectives, not 100,000 real respondents, and cannot guarantee reach.
